Do your ankles swell when standing too long? Recent surgery caused swelling?
Have you had an injury and the swelling just will not go down? It could be that your lymphatic system needs a helping hand.
The lymphatic system removes excess tissue fluid from the body tissue to return to the circulation. Massage will increase local blood flow improving the circulation within the tissues and encourage tissue fluid exchange. Lymphatic drainage massage techniques will also reduce swelling (oedema) by stimulation of the muscles and passive movement of the tissue fluid. The treatment will help reduce the swelling and help bring back function to the soft tissues
Post surgery lymphatic drainage massage is often suggested by Doctors. Many elective surgeries such as liposuction or a tummy tuck will cause a build up of fluid from the damaged tissue in the area. This can create ‘pockets’ of fluid that causes discomfort. Reducing the fluid will not only increase healing speed, but also relieve the pressure build up reducing pain. Post surgical scaring can also be reduced by passively stretching the area reducing adhesions.
In the cases of post surgery, regular (2-3 times per week initially) 30 minute treatments are recommended. Please ask about my package deals.
All post surgery work must be approved by a physician before treatments can begin.
